Hypnosis to me meant getting on stage and quacking like a duck, or pretending to ride a canoe on stage or even singing opera involuntarily.  About 15 years ago, I went to a stage hypnosis show. I was always facisnated about it. I even got called up on stage during the show to quack like a duck, only to find I was sent back down to audience after a few minutes. The entire time I was thinking how silly this was and I was to prove to this guy that it does not work…..and it didn’t. And it didn’t for many reasons. But for one, it didn’t work because I did not want it to work.

Interesting that some people could so easily quack like a duck and others could not? Why? Was this planned? Was this fake? I don’t get it. My friend quacked like a duck so it couldn’t be fake right?

My perception, like many was that hypnosis was mind control. Which in fact it’s the opposite. And it was proven on stage.

You are in control of your mind. No one can make you do or say anything you don’t want to.

Now rewind back 15 years, knowing what I know now makes sense. I did not allow anyone to control my mind. I did not want to sing on stage, or quack like a duck. Therefore I didn’t!

But what if I wanted to live a joyous life? What if I wanted to be more focused at work? What if I wanted to let go of the stress of everyday life? If I allow this to happen would it work?

The answer is YES YES YES. Because I am in control of my mind. I am allowing and permitting positive changes. Quacking like a duck served me no purpose, especially in front of 100 people!
